Worship Opportunities

The Service for the Lord’s Day
10:45 AM Sundays (10:00 AM May 25--Aug. 31, 2008, with no Sunday School)

Advent: First Sunday of December; lunch follows worship, then decorating of the Sanctuary and Fellowship Hall. A brief Advent worship concludes `The Hanging of the Greens.`

Lenten Wednesday Noontime Organ Concerts and Soup Lunches: Community organists perform; proceeds support local mission efforts.

Lenten Wednesday Worship: 6:45 PM.

Ash Wednesday and Maundy Thursday Communion Services: Ash Wednesday Communion follows soup lunch at noon and soup dinner at 6 PM.

Prayer Opportunities: Include prayer chain; Sundays at 9:15 AM in the Gathering Room.

Men’s Breakfast: Held second Thursday of each month at 7:00 AM, October - May

Choir: Rehearses Wednesdays at 7:00 PM, except during summer months.



PROGRAMS & OPPORTUNITIES

CONNECTING

The Book Club: Meets second Thursday of each month, 7:00 PM, in the church library. (No meeting in January.)

Presbyterian Women / Faith Circle: Meets fourth Monday of each month, 2:00 PM.

Advent Hanging of the Greens: First Sunday of Advent; volunteers decorate, have lunch & devotions.

275th Anniversary Celebration Committee

Nursery Care: Adult volunteers care for children during worship.

Roadrunners: Events, service projects, and `Go and See` trips.

Fellowship and service events with youth: throughout the year

EDUCATING

Sunday morning Education Hour: Preceded by 9:15 AM Prayer for the Day.

Education Classes: Meet at 9:30; includes classes and courses for all ages and a Confirmation Class

Book Club: Second Thursday each month.

EQUIPPING

Sunday Seminars: Health and Wholeness Interest Group; occasional post-worship lunches with speakers on topics related to health and wholeness.

Project S.H.A.R.E.: Volunteers assist with monthly food collection and distribution.

Samaritan Fellowship: Volunteers assist persons in need, weekly.

Carlisle Opportunity Homes: Volunteers work closely with local 'Neighborhood Pride` projects.

Habitat for Humanity: Volunteers work with the Cumberland Valley HH Chapter.

Gardening Angels: Volunteers help maintain the church yard and grounds through the year.

Mission Interest Group: Raises mission awareness.

Meeting House Springs Cemetery: Volunteers help to refurbish the church's 250 year old cemetery.

275th Anniversary Committee: Members plan and prepare for the 2009 season of celebration.
